Coolants and Antifreeze

Coolants are fluids used in the engine cooling systems to transfer heat away from the engine, preventing overheating.

Types:

  • Ethylene Glycol-Based: Offers excellent freeze and boil-over protection; commonly used in most vehicles.
  • Propylene Glycol-Based: Less toxic alternative, often used in recreational vehicles and some passenger cars.

Applications:

Used in radiator systems to maintain optimal engine temperature.
